How to Resend a Google Calendar Invite to Someone Who Hasn't Responded

Google Calendar has no one-click "resend invite" button. Here are the manual ways to re-send an invitation to a guest who never replied — and the faster alternative: connect CalNudge for free and let reminders go out on their own.

You sent the invite. Most guests clicked Yes — but one or two never responded at all, and the meeting's getting close. The frustrating part: Google Calendar shows you exactly who's still Awaiting a response, but it gives you no dedicated "resend invite" button. There are two reliable manual workarounds, and one way to never do this by hand again.

Option 1 · The quick nudge

Email just the guest who hasn't responded

Google Calendar
  1. Open the event in Google Calendar on the web.
  2. In the Guests list, find anyone still showing Awaiting — they haven't clicked Yes, No, or Maybe.
  3. Click the Email guests (envelope) icon.
  4. Uncheck everyone who already responded so you're only writing to the non-responders, add a short note asking them to confirm, and send.
The catch: this sends a plain email, not a fresh calendar invitation — so there's no new Accept/Decline button in their inbox. And you have to repeat it for every event, every time, manually deselecting the people who already replied.
Option 2 · The real resend

Trigger a brand-new invitation email

Google Calendar

Google won't resend an invitation on demand, but you can force a fresh one by removing the guest and adding them back:

  1. Open the event and click Edit (the pencil icon).
  2. In the Guests list, remove the person who hasn't responded.
  3. Click Save, and choose Send when Google asks about notifying guests.
  4. Edit the event again, re-add the same person, and Save with Send once more.
  5. Google generates a brand-new invitation email to that guest, with a fresh RSVP prompt.
The catch: only do this to guests who never responded — removing and re-adding someone resets their RSVP, so never do it to people who already accepted. It's fiddly with several non-responders, and editing the event with "Send update" instead would notify everyone, not just the silent ones.
The automatic way

Let CalNudge resend the reminders for you

CalNudge connects to your Google Calendar and watches the meetings you organize. When a guest hasn't responded, it sends polite reminders on your behalf — only to them — so you never remove-and-re-add a guest by hand again.

  • Targets only the silent ones. Reminders go to guests who haven't responded — never to people who already accepted or declined.
  • Stops automatically on response. The moment someone accepts or declines, their reminders stop.
  • Sends on a schedule. Default reminders go out 7 days, 48 hours, 24 hours, and 6 hours before — or set your own custom cadence.
  • Sounds like you. Pick a tone — Polite, Firm, Casual, or Formal — so the nudge matches your voice.
  • Works with Outlook too. Google Calendar / Google Workspace and Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft 365. About 12 seconds to set up.

One CalNudge customer saw their kept-appointment rate go from 68% to 91% after turning on automatic reminders. See how teams use it for sales, recruiting, and client meetings — or estimate your own savings with the no-show cost calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Resending Google Calendar invites: FAQ

Does Google Calendar have a "resend invite" button?
No. Google Calendar has no one-click way to resend an invitation. You can email guests a nudge from the event, or force a brand-new invitation email by removing the guest and adding them back — but there's no dedicated resend button.
How do I resend an invite only to the person who hasn't responded?
Open the event, look at the Guests list for anyone still marked Awaiting (no Yes/No/Maybe), and either use the Email guests envelope icon to message just that person, or remove and re-add them to trigger a fresh invitation email. CalNudge can do this automatically — it nudges only the non-responders and leaves everyone who replied alone.
Will resending the invite annoy people who already accepted?
It can. If you edit the event and choose "Send update," Google notifies everyone, including guests who already said yes. To avoid that, email or re-add only the specific non-responders — or let CalNudge send reminders solely to attendees who haven't responded.
Does removing and re-adding a guest delete their RSVP?
Removing a guest clears them from the event, and re-adding them sends a fresh invitation that they'll need to respond to again. That's fine for someone who never replied, but don't do it to guests who already accepted — you'd reset their response.
Can I automate resending invite reminders?
Yes. CalNudge connects to your Google Calendar, watches the meetings you organize, and automatically sends polite reminders to attendees who haven't responded — on a schedule you control. It stops the moment someone accepts or declines, so you never resend by hand again.
Does this work with Google Workspace?
Yes. CalNudge works with both personal Google Calendar and Google Workspace (and with Microsoft Outlook / Microsoft 365). Setup takes about 12 seconds — connect your calendar with one click and CalNudge handles the rest.
